Tasks
The Market Area Fleet Manager will lead all aspects of fleet operations within the North Atlantic market areas, including CT, RI, and MA, supporting multiple local businesses and their service teams. This role combines strategic oversight with hands-on execution to ensure our fleet is safe, compliant, cost-efficient, and optimized for local market needs. You will work closely with local fleet coordinators and market leadership to maintain accurate reporting, drive data-based decisions, and implement operational improvements that align with Apex’s service delivery standards. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and proactive in identifying issues, uncovering opportunities, and turning insights into actionable initiatives. -Fleet Operations Management: Manage the full lifecycle of vehicles in your market area, including acquisition, registration, maintenance, compliance, and decommissioning -Performance Analysis: Review fleet performance metrics to identify risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement, and implement solutions tailored to market needs -M&A Integration: Provide fleet expertise during acquisitions and assist with smooth integration of new locations into market operations -Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to DOT and regulatory requirements within your market, maintaining accurate and timely documentation -Local Data Accuracy & Reporting: Partner with local fleet coordinators to ensure timely and accurate reporting of fleet data across all branches in your market -Growth Enablement: Support fleet expansion by building vendor relationships and implementing scalable systems and processes for your market area -Market Collaboration: Work with local business leaders to align fleet operations with service delivery goals and customer expectations -Program Implementation: Deploy fuel programs, telematics, safety protocols, and utilization strategies at the market level

What You Bring
Location: Could work out of Farmington, CT / Portsmouth, NH / White Plains, NY / Pittsburgh, PA / or Cleveland, OH -Willingness to travel up to 30% within the market area to support acquisitions and assist local branches -Excel & Data Analysis: Use advanced Excel skills to process large datasets, identify trends, and deliver clear, actionable insights to market leadership -5+ years of experience in fleet management, logistics, or related operations leadership, ideally within a multi-location environment -Proven ability to analyze operational data, identify opportunities, and implement solutions that improve performance and reduce costs -Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, XLOOKUP, data analysis, and reporting) -Strong understanding of DOT, safety, and regulatory compliance -Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
