Senior Fire Safety Engineer

Tasks

-Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, clients and regulators. -Conduct conventional fire engineering assessments and high-hazard scenario analysis and deliver fire safety strategies. -Perform fire modelling and interpret the results. -Be part of a fire engineering project team or technical lead when required and develop and mentor junior staff. -Occasional travel to client sites throughout the UK and sometimes overseas. -Facilitate fire hazard study workshops. -Guide the design of high hazard buildings and assess risks of fire and its effects. -Evaluate prevention and protective measures required to limit the probability and consequence of fire. -Contribute to the delivery of technical fire engineering and safety projects.

What You Bring

-Knowledge of UK regulations and standards (e.g. Approved Document B, BS 9999, BS 9991, PD 7974, etc.) and other regulatory regimes. -Strong numeracy, high attention to detail when report writing and excellent time management skills. -Understand the design, installation, maintenance requirements for fire detection, suppression and control philosophies. -A Bachelor’s degree in Fire Engineering or other Engineering discipline. -Experience of working in an organisation delivering fire engineering projects (Consulting is desirable). -Understand the commercial impact of all decisions and recognise opportunities for business development. -Proven track record for the technical delivery of fire engineering reports. -Experienced in liaising with design teams, clients, local authorities, contractors and other third parties.
