The Role
Overview
Coordinate and supervise construction crews and subcontractors to ensure project execution.

Tasks
-Hire, train, evaluate and terminate craft personnel, following established company policies, procedures, and practices. -Supervise total construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule. Includes interfacing with client representatives and other contractors. -Assist project management in developing and implementing project procedures, working documents, standards. -Assume responsibility for productivity of project. -Provide technical assistance, interpret drawings, and recommend construction methods and equipment as required. -Promote a safe work environment. -Climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffolding. -Perform and/or supervise building layout and field engineering. -Ensure all on-site personnel comply with project procedures, safety program requirements, work rules, etc. Document all violations; notify project management, recommend/implement corrective actions as required. -Lift and carry objects weighting up to 50 pounds and occasionally more. -Supervise craft employees and other contractors as required by the contract. -May authorize and approve all project personnel transactions, purchase requisitions, field design change requests, etc. -Ensure all personnel comply with safety and working procedures. -Assume responsibility for productivity of crafts, efficient use of materials & equipment, and contractual performance of the project. -Coordinate the movements of eyes, hands, and fingers with full use of hands, arms and fingers. -Assist project management with drawing interpretations and recommend construction methods and equipment. -Supervise craft personnel and other contractors to ensure project is constructed by design, within budget and on schedule. -Work closely with the Safety Director to create a constant awareness including rigid enforcement of the requirements of Ajax Building Company’s Safety Policy. -Plan, coordinate and supervise on-site functions.

What You Bring
-Excellent communication, organizational and supervisory skills -Required: 8 years of supervisory experience in the construction field. -Preferred: 10 or more years of supervisory experience in the construction field. -The ability to motivate employees and handle any situation that occurs on the project. -Must be able to see well (either naturally or with correction). -Thorough knowledge of all safety requirements. -Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl or work at any height. -Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, and methods). -Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in construction management or related field.
