Tasks

-Operate Horizontal Directional Drill to bore holes in the earth. -Monitor drilling operations to ensure safety and efficiency. -Loads and unloads materials on the truck. -Performs all phases of general and underground construction including but not limited to loading, driving, delivery, digging, removal, and placement of various types, sizes, and weights of construction materials and equipment. -Inspect drill sites for potential hazards. -Must always maintain working equipment. -The Operator will be expected to be on time and complete service calls in a timely manner. -Maintain and repair drilling equipment. -Always maintain safe working habits/conditions. -Perform site clean-up. -Follow instructions from supervisors. -Restores and repairs all disturbed property.

What You Bring

-Must be able to operate or work around heavy equipment and machinery. -Experience in the telecommunications or underground utilities industry is required. -Be able to pass a pre-employment background and drug screen. -Must be able and willing to conduct strenuous and physically demanding tasks for long hours, work outdoors, and in inclement weather conditions. -Must be able to work while wearing safety boots, safety glasses, hard hats, and any applicable safety gear. -2 plus years as an experienced Driller working in all types of ground. -Must be able to lift and carry materials of all shapes and sizes, weighing 40 to 90 pounds. -Travels to and from job sites -Class A CDL (preferred) -A positive can-do attitude and openness to trying things in new ways. -Must be able to maintain visual and audible contact with other crewmen and all moving or stationary persons/vehicles/objects to ensure safe coordination of movement. -Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl while performing work. -Ability to travel wherever the job is needed. -Working knowledge of basic hand tools and mechanical equipment -A valid driver’s license and must be insurable. -High school diploma or equivalent
