Laboratory Chemist - Drilling and Completion Fluids

Overview

Perform routine chemical and physical analyses of drilling and completion fluids in the Aberdeen laboratory.

Tasks

-Under minimal supervision, conduct routine chemical or physical analyses by running tests and procedures in support of UK/European/Caspian Operations for Drilling Fluids. -Calibrates and maintains equipment and relevant paperwork. -Communicates results to supervisor in a detailed manner. -Assesses results for applicability, validity and conformance to specifications. -Assists senior personnel in providing results to internal/external customers. -Prepare equipment for offshore use. -Handles special projects, as assigned.

What You Bring

-Knowledge of general chemistry/sciences. -Laboratory experience. -Knowledge of Microsoft software. -Willingness to provide 24 hour cover when required. -Good analytical, communication and problem solving skills. -Ability to communicate well individually and in team environment. -Science degree or applicable engineering. -Experience with drilling fluids testing as per API specifications and testing in a laboratory or operations role.
