Tasks

-Understand and comply with the Company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other industry-specific professional and ethical conduct standards -Support company safety committees with assessment of safety performance trends, implementing process, and tool improvements -Coach and mentor project site personnel regarding safety practices and behaviors on an ongoing basis -Perform ongoing site visits to observe and document safety behaviors and work conditions to ensure a safety focus throughout all phases of electric construction projects -Support client-specific safety requirements programs and ensure alignment and compliance between client expectations, company rules, and applicable safety regulations -Conduct proactive behavior-based and quality-focused field safety observations and PPE hazard assessments -Complete final review incident case management and documentation -Partner with Operations leadership to create site-specific safety plans; actively participate in safety meetings to review job hazard analysis and hazard recognition tools -Participate in project kick off and progress meetings -Coordinate safety department meetings and action planning to provide technical expertise regarding safety and training topics -Participate in safety department meetings and action planning to provide technical expertise regarding safety and training topics -Provide mentoring and coaching to lower level Safety personnel -Conduct accident/injury investigations including root cause analyses -Follow-up with Operations organization to ensure completion of corrective actions for all accidents and incidents -Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to environmental protection or occupational health and safety -Coordinate with Safety, Safety Training & Operations teams to schedule or facilitate required employee trainings -Provide support to Operations organization for incident case management and documentation steps -Participate in site-specific safety planning

What You Bring

-High school diploma or GED equivalent - required -Post-incident training as part of a Corrective Action Plan -Minimum of one (1) safety certification is preferred, examples include: Certified Safety and Health Official (CSHO) Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) Safety Management Specialist (SMS), Specialist in Safety and Health (SSH), or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) -Undergraduate degree in in Occupational Safety & Health Management, Ergonomics, Industrial Hygiene or related technical field preferred; combination of relevant experience and education considered in lieu of degree -Effective verbal and written communication skills with ability to influence behavior -Thorough understanding of construction project management practices and procedures -OSHA ETD Quarterly refresher training -Advanced knowledge of local, federal and state regulations pertaining to environmental protection or occupational health and safety -Regular and predictable attendance -Organizational skills -Ability to travel for job site visits for extended periods of time -Documented experience with OSHA recordkeeping, reporting and Method of Procedure (MOP) writing -Minimum 5 years of experience in environmental, health, and safety (EHS) field roles - required -Attentiveness to details -Strong knowledge and understanding of OSHA and other industry-related safety regulations -Excellent problem-solving and situation analysis skills -Advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite programs, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint -Ability to work independently -Must be a team player with proven ability to work with co-workers, different departments and outside contacts and maintain strong relationships
