Design civil/structural work for electrical substations, covering permitting, site, foundations, structures, and specs.

Tasks

-Occasional travel will be required -Development of civil construction specifications, cost estimates, engineering proposals and project schedules -Preparation of calculation packages to satisfy client and code requirements -Coordination with all disciplines contributing to electrical substation design -Support of substation physical design with bus analysis calculations and coordinating with multiple disciplines on results

What You Bring

-BSCE (Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering) degree from an accredited college -A strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel -Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam, or the ability to complete the FE exam within one year -Ability to independently create calculation packages -Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship -Experience in electric utility substation design (15kV through 500kV) is a plus -Professional Engineering license (PE) or the ability to obtain licensure and ability to obtain licensure in multiple states -Geotechnical background is a plus -Ability to perform basic civil engineering tasks -Ability to successfully participate in multiple projects concurrently and manager budgets and schedules -Mechanical reasoning skills and attention to detail -Three (3) or more years of civil design experience -Experience with AutoCAD, Microstation, RISA, MatchCAD, LPile, and Civil 3D are beneficial -Understand and incorporate typical structural code requirements
