Overview

Design and program PLC/SCADA control systems for water/wastewater projects.

Tasks

-Prepares specifications and drawings, writes control system descriptions, and performs start up and commissioning activities with minimal input from other personnel. -Utilizes and programs PLC control systems, SCADA Systems, and Human Machine Interface software to effectively design and implement instrumentation and control systems for water/wastewater projects. -Works closely with Project Managers, project team, and clients to implement solutions. -Creates instrument material take-offs from drawings.

What You Bring

-Requires experience with programming PLCs and HMIs, and knowledge of various PLCs and SCADA software. -Understands and implements communications systems such as Ethernet based local area networks and wireless radio systems. -Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field required. -Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required. -The ability to balance multiple work assignments on multiple projects at the same time is required. -Multiple office locations to work from: Stick close to home or travel for a change of scenery. -Must be familiar with system networking, I&C Drawings (loops, cabinet layout/wiring) and P&ID drawings. -The ability to work alone but also effectively as part of a team is required. -The ability to complete work consistently, with moderate flexibility to accommodate varying project demands is required. -Candidates are required to pass a pre-employment drug screening. -Experience troubleshooting problems in operational situations. -Requires process-oriented thinking with strong organizational and technical skills. -Candidates are required to have a valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle and criminal record as determined by McKim & Creed. -Requires 2 years of I&C design and PLC and SCADA programming experience. -Requires excellent communication, and the ability to take and understand directives from Project Managers, Contractors, and Regulators.
