The Role

Overview

Lead cabling projects in power transmission, managing safety, budget, and stakeholder delivery.

Tasks

-Understand and deliver contractual obligations. -Develop and maintain resource-loaded schedules. -Ensure team training and adoption of digital tools. -Ensure accurate project documentation (progress, diaries, etc.). -Escalate unresolved issues appropriately. -Lead audits and improvement initiatives. -Prepare and present reports to internal and external stakeholders. -Lead safety tours, incident investigations, and RAMS reviews. -Own the Risk Register and lead reviews. -Champion Zero Harm and stay current with legislation. -Guide teams to deliver feasible and effective solutions. -Maintain a live H&S plan and ensure workforce competency. -Sponsor and promote project diversity and inclusion -Mentor and upskill team members. -Interpret and challenge technical inputs and designs. -Manage resource plans and coordinate internal functions. -Set team goals and development plans. -Conduct regular project reviews and maintain the Digital Briefcase. -Drive certification readiness and KPI achievement. -Communicate new concepts and ideas to technical and non-technical stakeholders -Manage commercial changes and reporting routines. -Promote consistent digital data use and standards. -Implement productivity controls and milestone tracking. -Control budget and resource efficiency -Manage subcontractors and ensure timely resource delivery. -Align procurement plans with project schedules. -Build high-performing teams through training and motivation. -Ensure reporting supports informed, cost-effective decisions. -Empower teams to manage work safely and effectively.

What You Bring

-Able to demonstrate a track record of project delivery -Formal qualification in project management or equivalent experience -Record of a solution-based approach to problem solving -CSCS and SMSTS or Equivalent -Able to communicate effectively both verbal and written with all levels of the organisation -Discuss ideas and plans competently and with confidence -Experience in implementing safe systems of work -Member of a professional management body i.e. APM -Proficient on O365 -Recognise and drive personal development with a learning mindset -In depth understanding and practical experience of standard forms of contracts -Experience of working on a variety of project types -Proficient in commercial/project management communications -Good knowledge of performance evaluation techniques and key metrics -Ability to see the business vision and inspire this shared vision amongst the team -Holds a current driving licence -Effective team management skills which empower, influence & inspire others to build effective teams. Providing mentoring and support to members of the team where required
