Tasks

With a focus on accuracy, compliance, and safety, NV5 provides reliable materials testing and inspection services to support your construction and renovation projects. -Participate in training and mentoring of staff. -Certifications: Assures that all accreditations and certifications of the laboratory and staff are maintained and up to date -Manage projects for technical excellence, budget and schedule. -Review plans and specifications. -Engineering Project Manager on DSA/OSHPD projects. -Review field and laboratory reports. -Direct, review and monitor work performed by the materials testing and inspection personnel. -Project Management: Manage projects from inception through completion and have primary responsibility for managing client expectations and ensuring that delivery meets expectations. -Conduct annual and interim performance reviews. Monitor and assess progress toward performance goals. Delete or leave? -Prepare and/or review materials testing proposals.

What You Bring

-3-5 years of relevant experience in the field -CA PE or CA EIT is a plus, but not required -Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, think creatively, and problem solve. -Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office -BS in civil engineering, Master's in Geotechnical is a plus -Experience overseeing materials testing and inspections in the field -Strong verbal and written communication skills -Extensive knowledge of building codes and construction industry standards. DSA, OSHPD, Caltrans, AASHTO, and ASTM test methods pertaining to construction materials, including HMA, aggregate, soils, steel, masonry and concrete -Thorough understanding of accreditation policies for all relevant agencies including Caltrans, DSA, AMRL, CCRL, IAS, etc. -Experience reviewing concrete/asphalt mix designs -Demonstrated experience with reviewing technical specifications and filed/laboratory reports.

Benefits

Base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location of the candidate. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. The pay range for this position in California is $90,000 to $120,000 per year. NV5 offers a competitive compensation and benefits package including medical, dental, life insurance, PTO, 401(k) and professional development/advancement opportunities.
