Senior Drywall Estimator

Overview

Lead estimator for drywall, framing & carpentry, creating cost estimates and preconstruction packages.

Tasks

-Independently prepare complete self-perform cost estimate packages for projects using applicable project plans, specifications and supporting documentation. -Prepares contractual exhibits for scope of work and subcontracts. -Prepare and submit pre-bid RFI’s for scope clarifications. -Co-develop post bid budgets/SOV. -Prepare consistently accurate, detailed, quantity surveys. -Identify cost-savings opportunities. -Assist in field change pricing if needed. -Builds relationships with subcontractors and suppliers. -Implement all applicable Safety Programs and EEO/Affirmative Action Programs. -Prepare variance reports to identify the cost deltas at each budget update. -Directs, coordinates and provides information and documents to internal and external partners/vendors -Attend preconstruction meetings to learn project information, estimating deadlines, and deliverables. -Keeps current with latest estimating technology and techniques. -Prepare estimate turnover packages for the self-perform operation teams. -Conducts reviews of milestone documents for the development and pricing of value alternative opportunities. -Maintains a “value added” approach to estimating -Attends industry events and represents McCarthy to the industry in a professional capacity.

Ability to communicate effectively with team and clients -General knowledge of negotiated bids, hard bids, and GMP processes. -Able to work independently and as part of a team. -Subject matter expert in drywall, framing, and carpentry scopes. -Demonstrates ability to effectively manage multiple tasks under differing deadlines. -Strong math and analytical skills. -7 years or greater of drywall/framing preconstruction and estimating experience in large commercial, education, and/or healthcare markets. -Extensive experience and highly skilled with OST and Quickbid software.
