Tasks

-Identify opportunities for improvement in the product development process and assist in the preparation, revision and maintenance of internal procedures to streamline the operations. -Occasionally supervise, train and co-ordinate the work of others including safety. -Trouble-shoot, service, calibrate or supervise the repair or installation of equipment, processes or products -Supervise phases of major projects or smaller projects and may direct the work of others. -Carry out customers’ work in accordance to written or verbal procedures. -Perform all duties in a safe manner in compliance with Kinectrics policies and procedures. Participate in pre-job meetings. Assure timely completion and review of JSAs with involved parties. -Act as a technical resource on projects of varying complexity to achieve the defined objectives of scope, quality, time and cost. -Assist in preparing high quality work procedure, routine and non-routine technical reports with recommendations based on results achieved. -Carry out standard and non-standard investigations and technical studies for electric utilities that may require knowledge in various disciplines including mechanical, electrical, metallurgical, chemical, non-destructive evaluation etc. -Assist in the co-ordination of multiple projects simultaneously. -Support the administration of contracts, including estimates of costs, schedule, and resources required. -Execute field testing and investigation projects on overhead phase conductors, structures and accessory hardware. -Assist in production of drawings, bill of materials and assembly procedures to support the product development and continuous improvement. -Directly respond to customer inquiries, maintain good customer relations and solve problems and/or acquire new or repeat business. -Work at customer sites throughout the US and sometimes at worldwide locations to initiate new services and strategic partners. Field duty and travel is part of this position. 30%-50% travel is common for the role. -Ensure Kinectrics provides a leading-edge service to the industry. Participate in product/service development projects. Support any potential technology integration and testing offering to new market locations.

What You Bring

-Proven experience analyzing and resolving complex technical issues across multiple disciplines. -Mechanical, or Electro-Mechanical Technician/Technologist diploma (or equivalent). Completion of three-year community college or undergraduate degree in engineering technology program. -Absolute dedication to safety and safety practices. -Ability to manage time and budget, multi-task and understand priorities and communicate deviation or conflicts to the Service Line Lead. -Experience working under QA programs (e.g., ISO 9001). -Customer-focused with solid organizational skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines. -LabView and NI Instruments for data acquisition -R&D experience and involvement in robotics design/building (e.g., competitions or prior roles) considered an asset. -Familiarity with continuous improvement practices and workplace organization. -Hands-on experience with common hand and power tools. -Ability to act as a spokesperson for Kinectrics. Demonstrated strong customer service orientation, dealt with clients alone on numerous occasions. Built relationships with key contractors and suppliers. -Understanding of transmission line components is required. -Possession of a valid driver's license enabling independent operation of motor vehicles. -Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for long periods, crouching, kneeling, and other physical tasks. -Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. -Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation). -Capable of working independently and collaboratively with technical teams. -Working knowledge of mechanical/electrical theory and relevant testing standards. -Flexibility with schedule and travel requirements due to fluidity of projects. Must be able to travel to USA and internationally with no restrictions. -Strong analytical mindset with a willingness to self-learn or learn under supervision. -Proficiency in: -Minimum 8 years of related test laboratory experience or equivalent advanced education
