This hands-on leadership role is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex network architectures that power live events, fan connectivity, and operational systems across multiple stadiums and event sites. The position will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, venue partners, and external vendors to ensure network systems deliver world-class performance, reliability, and scalability.

  • Lead the design and architecture of stadium and event network services, prioritizing performance, redundancy, scalability, and security.
  • Manage and maintain all network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and training materials.
  • Maintain and publish guidelines for stadium DAS and wireless standards, and oversee implementation and compliance across venues.
  • Mentor junior engineers and promote a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
  • Create and present detailed network design proposals that align with organizational and operational requirements.
  • Stay current on networking trends and technologies through research, education, and professional development.
  • Oversee installation, operation, and maintenance of wired and wireless networks at stadiums, offices, and temporary event sites.
  • Research, evaluate, and document emerging network technologies and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Respond to and resolve escalated wired and wireless service issues, coordinating with technical and business teams as needed.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams—operations, event technology, and security—to align infrastructure strategy with business objectives.
  • Develop and document standards and best practices for venue network, wireless, and DAS (Distributed Antenna System) architecture.
  • Partner with cellular carriers and integrators to design, optimize, and test network enhancements for large-scale events.
  • Produce and present KPI reports covering service levels, capacity, performance, and areas for improvement.
  • Provide technical support and leadership to on-site network and Wi-Fi teams during live events.
  • Plan and conduct audits of cellular and DAS performance to ensure adherence to organizational benchmarks.

We are working on a search for a professional sports team/organization for a Head of Stadium Network Architecture. This is an onsite role, with travel necessary. Deep expertise in DAS architecture is required.

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in wireless network design, stadium connectivity, and spectrum analysis, with a passion for delivering exceptional, high-performance experiences in large-scale venues.

  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, event-driven environments.
  • Familiarity with Cisco ISE and DNA Center is a plus.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both technical and non-technical.
  • Demonstrated experience using network diagnostic and analysis tools (e.g., Wireshark).
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities for complex network environments.
  • Advanced understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, DHCP, DNS, STP, NAT, IPSEC, GRE, VPC/VSS, etc.).
  • Certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or JNCIP preferred.
  • Proficiency with Cisco technologies (controllers, access points, routers, and switches).
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in network implementation, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management.
  • Strong expertise in routing and multi-layer switching (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, VLANs, VTP, Spanning Tree, etc.).
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field preferred (or equivalent military or industry experience).
  • Deep understanding of network security principles and best practices.
  • Proven experience supporting video and voice traffic over wireless and wired infrastructure.
  • Strong documentation skills (Visio, Excel, Word).
  • 5+ years of specialized experience in wireless design and DAS implementation for large public venues or arenas.
  • 5+ years in a network architecture or design leadership capacity.
  • Strategic thinker with strong execution and leadership capabilities.
