The Role

Lead safety, health & environmental programs for construction projects in Seattle.

Tasks

-Serve as first responder for workplace incidents; provide immediate first aid/CPR as needed. -Conduct regular jobsite safety inspections and audits; document findings and ensure timely corrective actions. -Lead root cause analyses and develop corrective/preventive measures to prevent recurrence. -Coach craft personnel and foremen on hazard recognition and safe work practices. -Maintain accurate records of safety training, certifications, and compliance activities. -Supervise Environmental Safety and Health Specialists assigned to the same project(s). -Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement in safety performance. -Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local safety regulations (OSHA, USACE EM 385-1-1, etc.) and company policies. -Under minimal supervision, manages, develops and implements SH&E programs. -Deliver safety orientations, toolbox talks, and targeted training for employees and subcontractors. -Partner with supervisors and craft to identify and control hazards related to excavation, cranes, rigging, confined space, electrical and other heavy civil activities. -Support project leadership in implementing site-specific safety plans, activity hazard analyses, and risk mitigation strategies.

What You Bring

-Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test. -CHST (Construction Health & Safety Technician) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification. -Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Environment, Environmental Sciences, or an applied science field or demonstrated equivalent of experience and education. -Current OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety Training. -This is a management level position with 8+ years of relevant experience required. -Rigging/Signal Person Qualification. -OSHA 500 – Trainer Course in OSHA Standards for Construction. -This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization. -Current First Aid / CPR certification. -Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software. -Proven ability to interpret and apply OSHA regulations and industry best practices. -Fall Protection Competent Person. -Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage employees at all levels. -Trench & Excavation Competent Person. -Experience with accident trend analysis and leading targeted safety initiatives. -OSHA 510 – Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry.
