The Role

Overview

Lead QA/inspection of structural construction, oversee field engineering & contracts.

Tasks

-Reviewing and inspecting plans and calculations for: falsework; shoring; staging; bridge removal; and other technical submissions, on City, County, Caltrans and other State projects -Responding to and effectively resolving field construction issues -Assumes responsibility for field engineering, contract administration, inspection, testing, surveying, and quality control on one large or several small construction projects. -Supervises field inspection and field office personnel -Represents projects at meetings and conferences -Conducting meetings between contractor, owner, utilities and other project parties -Analyzing construction costs of changed conditions, drafting change orders, and recommending claims dispositions -Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures -Preparing constructability reviews and reports -Inspecting, documenting, and coordinating field test of construction materials

What You Bring

-Minimum of 12 years of experience, 5 of which are as a Structures Representative -Solid written and verbal skills -Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening. -Experience working with railroads -Current California PE license -Valid CA driver's license -Working knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and material -Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies -BSCE or related Degree
