Overview

Support lab operations: inventory, maintenance, waste, equipment checks

Tasks

-Organize routine shipments and deliveries. -Tidy and organize freezers, ensuring stock is up to date. -Help manage various waste streams including clinical, chemical, general, and recycling. -Clear waste cardboard and plastics bins regularly. -Assist equipment engineers and contractors during on-site visits. -Run weekly system checks on Flow cytometers. -Maintain accurate stock levels of basic consumables and reagents. -Provide support to team and liaise with park in absence of Laboratory Operations Manager -Clean incubators according to a recorded rota. -Assist in general upkeep and organization of storerooms and labs. -Receive and check in new stock and reagents. -Perform aliquoting of reagents as required. -Support external IT management contractors with necessary checks and updates. -Manage lab coat dry cleaning logistics. -Restock laboratory supplies and maintain dry ice stock. -Conduct regular inventory spot checks and implement corrective actions.

What You Bring

-High level of numeracy – able to carry out molarity and dilution calculations -Previous experience in a laboratory or operational support role preferred. -IT proficient – ability to use spreadsheets -Ability to manage deadlines -Good attention to detail -Great communicator who can relate to all people -Strong organizational and time-management skills -High level of self-motivation, ability to work independently and take initiative. -Being able to work as part of a team -Minimum of five GCSEs at grade C or above, including core subject: Combined Sciences, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English -Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment -Good Analytical skills
