Tasks

-Program and maintain PLC systems (Siemens S7) and SCADA systems -Maintain compliance with Electricity at Work Regulations (1989) and Quarry Regulations (1999) -Deliver investment projects to increase plant efficiency and reduce energy consumption aligned with sustainability policy -Develop spare parts strategies to optimise plant operations -Select and implement AC/DC variable speed drive technologies (inverter, Variable speed drives, etc.) -Manage process instrumentation and calibration including load cells, level control devices, and PID controllers -Implement capital projects from conception to handover, delivering on time and within budget -Analyse and forecast site electrical demand for commercial advantage -Liaise with contractors and suppliers on technical and safety issues -Set, provide and maintain excellence in electrical engineering standards across the site -Analyse motor vibration for roller and sleeve bearing systems -Design and specify AC/DC motor installations with understanding of operational parameters and duty types -Lead and develop the electrical team including Electrical Supervisor, Electricians, Software Engineer, and Apprentices -Identify training needs and build technical capability -Develop detailed feasibility studies and business cases -Model and set up analogue/digital PID controllers through Laplace and Fourier Transform frequency domains -Ensure compliance with IEE 18th Edition Wiring Regulations for design, installation and testing -Perform harmonic analysis and assess penetration in power networks -Maintain full conversance with SAP PM system -Manage HV and LV switchgear, cable and transformer inspection and test regimes -Specify starting arrangements for slip ring and squirrel cage induction motors -Provide direct input to maintenance budget planning for electrical items, power distribution, and infrastructure -Interpret transformer dissolved gas analysis to ensure optimal equipment health -Engineer and manage electrical aspects of projects -Apply HAZOP risk modelling techniques -Support the Engineering Manager with cost control related to electrical items -Ensure the team works within statutory legislation and company policies -Conduct fault level analysis and specify fuse sizes, feeder over current and transformer protection -Design and implement safety-critical control systems and interlocks (Pilz, Castel/Fortress)

-People management and team development -Strong project management skills with proven ability to deliver on time and within budget -Proficiency in SAP PM system -Expert knowledge of LV/HV installations, drive systems, and control systems -Minimum 5 years' experience in an electrical engineering department within continuous process industry -NEBOSH qualification or equivalent -Cross-functional understanding of mechanical issues -Flexible and adaptable to change -Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities -Strong leadership and people management skills -HV/LV authorised by regional electricity company to level of Senior Authorised Person -bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or electrical engineering technology is required -Experience in analysis and forecasting of site electrical demand -Strategic thinking and entrepreneurial management -Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
