The Role

Overview

Lead safety programs and teams for paving projects, overseeing compliance and training.

Tasks

-Conduct After Action Reviews of loss producing events and assist/lead RCA of severe events. -Collaborate with Operations Leadership to deliver consistent Cultural message. -Monitor and maintain adequate supply of personal protective equipment for field employees. -Direct field safety efforts on multiple projects with self-perform and subcontracted leadership and workforce developing metrics to measure project and contractor safety performance. -Assist project teams to create project safety plans and assist in facilitation of pre-activity meetings. -Develop & manage training and education presentations (both jobsite and classroom) for Project, Group and Company focus. -Complete electronic documented site safety assessments and corresponding summary reports. -Identify trends, patterns and practices and advise management on problem resolution. -Promote safety and health awareness through crew and one-on-one conversations. -Assess crews and conditions in the field to ensure work is performed in a safe manner. -Develop long lasting partnerships with customers by engaging them in project performance. -Build trust and respect with field personnel to promote open communication and influence adoption of new safety practices. -Develop, inspire, and grow safety team focusing on the Paving group to support their safety needs. -Help mentor safety interns each summer. -Facilitate the groups Safety Champions Team’s Process Improvement Initiatives. -Meet / Exceed individual and team Scorecard metrics and be actively engaged in Keeley strategic planning and i404 pillars. -Oversight & management of Subcontractor and Contracted Safety Personnel.

What You Bring

-Minimum of 10 years’ safety related experience. -Ability to travel at 75% of the time (3/4 weeks of the month) -CSP, CIH, CHST, OHST, STS-C, ASP, CUSP, or similar certification, preferred. -Experience with paving construction required -Advanced communication and presentation skills. -Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA and DOT regulations and practices with emphasis in Construction. -Bachelor’s or Associates in Occupational Safety & Health, Safety Management or safety related degree preferred or equivalent work experience in lieu of a degree. -History of safe personal practices and driving record.
