Entry-level engineer for power distribution design & field work in NC/VA

Tasks
-Support the preparation of engineering drawings, specifications, and reports. -Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and safety regulations. -Utilize software tools such as AutoCAD, GIS, and power system analysis programs. -Participate in project planning, scheduling, and budgeting activities. -Perform load calculations, voltage drop analysis, and equipment sizing. -Assist in the design and layout of overhead and underground power distribution systems. -Conduct site visits to gather data and support construction activities. -Collaborate with cross-functional teams including project managers, field engineers, and utility representatives.

What You Bring
-Proficiency with field data software and tech-savvy. -0–3 years of experience in utility field work or related fields such as construction, solar, renewables, engineering, or surveying (preferred). -Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar design software. -Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. -Strong communication and organizational skills. -Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. -Understanding of electrical distribution systems. -Ability to work independently and as part of a team. -Familiarity with the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) is a plus. -Valid driver’s license and ability to work outdoors in varying conditions. -Experience with field survey equipment. -Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. -High school diploma or equivalent (required). -Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or related discipline).
