Senior System Studies Engineer - RFI & EMC
Ge Vernova
The Role
Overview
Lead HVDC system studies, RFI/EMC analysis, and filter design for renewable grid solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- team mentoring
- hvdc design
- filter design
- technical specs
- risk management
- procurement
Tasks
-Mentoring and developing a team of engineers to build HVDC expertise. -Develop an integrated scheme design that meets the Customer’s needs, by developing requirements on the ratings and functionalities of the different HVDC system’s subsystems, in an optimised and cost-effective manner. -Actively participate in defining corrective actions when work is unsafe or when an uncontrolled risk is observed. -Set the example by demonstrating the proper acts and actively observe work conditions and behaviours, giving constructive feedback and celebrating EHS effective prevention. -Acquisition and Supply: Generation of work products associated with acquiring or providing products or services. -Collaborating with global engineering teams to contribute to product development and emerging technologies. -Report or resolve any non-conformances in a timely manner. -Providing subject matter expert input to design reviews and verifying project proposals. -Design of AC, DC, and High Frequency harmonic filters and screening. Calculations of filter performance and rating. Creation of project-specific equipment specifications for filter reactors/capacitors/resistors. -Work with other engineers, suppliers, and clients to ensure successful project outcomes. -Identify and evaluate EHS risks in own area and implement practical measures. -Risk and Opportunity Management: Proactively identifies and manages risks, issues, and opportunities. -Developing and maintaining technical specifications, guidance notes, and standards for HVDC systems. -Actively and routinely promote the identification of hazards and near misses to their team/s.
