Tasks

-Lead the design and layout of automatic fire sprinkler systems for a wide range of facilities, ensuring compliance with NFPA standards, local codes, and client requirements. -Mentor and support the professional development of junior designers and engineers. -Provide technical consulting to clients and other key stakeholders such as project managers, contractors, architects, and engineers regarding optimal sprinkler system design and integration. -Design and size fire pumps and controllers. -Perform detailed hydraulic calculations and material take-offs. -Review and evaluate sprinkler shop drawing submittals produced by sprinkler installation contractors. -Assist with quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) reviews for projects companywide. -Stay current with changes to applicable codes, standards, and industry best practices. -Generate fire suppression specifications for water-based fire-suppression systems. -Coordinate with AHJs (Authorities Having Jurisdiction) to ensure project approvals. -Create sprinkler shop drawing submittal packages. -Conduct field surveys and inspections to verify proper installation and compliance with the project design documents, specifications and applicable codes and standards.

What You Bring

-Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively. -NICET Level IV Certification in Water-Based Systems Layout (required). -Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, HydraCAD, SprinkCAD, or similar. -Excellent written and verbal communication skills. -Ability to travel as needed for site surveys, inspections, or client meetings. -Strong knowledge of NFPA 13, NFPA 14, NFPA 20, and other relevant codes and standards. -Minimum of [8–10] years of fire sprinkler design experience. -Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
