The Role

Assist in planning, supervising, and delivering civil engineering projects at Port of Tilbury.

Tasks
-Attend regular progress meetings with stakeholders and agree on key tasks to meet project deadlines -Maintain regular on-site presence and liaise with contractors to promptly resolve any arising issues -Provide regular progress reports and updates to Port Engineering Management, highlighting any delays or required actions -Run and manage the inspection of works programme to ensure all building and civil engineering works meet required standards and are properly recorded -Manage multiple projects simultaneously -Prepare Pre-Contract Information files, review Contractors’ Construction Phase Plans, and ensure accuracy of Health & Safety files including “As Built” drawings -Produce contract specifications and tender documentation (including Pre-tender Health & Safety Plans) for contractor tendering -Prepare well-defined, financially viable, and legally sound contract documents before project commencement -Oversee health and safety compliance including CDM 2015 duties as Client, Principal Designer, and Designer -Use in-house AutoCAD (following training) to interpret, modify, and prepare technical drawings and layouts in support of project planning and delivery -Apply consistent and effective problem-solving to maintain project schedules and budgets -Control project site activities for compliance with specifications, tender documents, programme, and budget constraints -Prepare accurate and properly costed designs and project estimations -Monitor budgets by reviewing valuations and variations to contract

What You Bring
-Working knowledge of AutoCAD is advantageous -Full UK driving licence -Has full permanent UK working rights -Good understanding of Health & Safety regulations, including CDM 2015, and ability to work independently or as part of a team -Extensive knowledge of building and civil engineering construction methods, ideally from a major contractor or client organisation, gained in the UK -Strong knowledge of building and civil engineering construction methods, with experience ideally gained from a major contractor or client organisation gained in the UK -Good working knowledge of Health and Safety regulations, including CDM 2015 -Degree level qualified, or HNC / equivalent with suitable experience -Ability to work independently and within a team -Ideally degree qualified, or HNC/equivalent with suitable experience
