The Role

Overview

Maintain and repair mechanical/electrical/boiler systems in a manufacturing environment.

Tasks

-Lubricate or apply adhesives or other materials to machines, machine parts, or other equipment according to specific procedures. -Start machines and observe mechanical operation to determine efficiency and to detect problems. -Install, replace, or change machine parts and attachments according to production specifications. -Read work orders and specifications to determine machines and equipment requiring repair or maintenance. -Clean machines and machine parts, using cleaning solvents, cloths, air guns, hoses, vacuums, or other equipment. -Transport machine parts, tools, equipment, and other material between work areas and storage, using cranes, hoists, or dollies. -Set up and operate machines and adjust controls to regulate operations. -Dismantle machines and remove parts for repair using hand tools, chain falls, jacks, cranes, or hoists. -Record production, repair, and machine maintenance information. -Inspect or test damaged machine parts and mark defective areas or advise supervisors of repair. -Reassemble machines after the completion of repair or maintenance work. -Collect and discard worn machine parts and other refuse in order to maintain machinery and work areas.

What You Bring

-21-40 LBS -Knowledge of various hand and power tools -Eye and hearing protection is required at all times on the production floor. -One to two (1-2) years related maintenance experience. -1-10 LBS -Ability to use hand& portable tools, gas and arc welder, forklift, pickup truck, testing equipment, tape measure, computer (shop floor and ERP). -11-20 LBS -Knowledge of measuring gauges such as tape measures -51 OR MORE LBS -1-40 LBS -Safety toe shoes (steel/composite). -Mechanical background with rotating equipment. Hydraulic and pneumatic. Electrical/mechanical troubleshooting. -Ability to comprehend complex technical topics and specialized information. -Exposure to hazardous mechanical, electrical and chemical substances/equipment. -Ability to work under pressure to complete assigned tasks under stressful situations. -41-50 LBS -Prior experience operating a forklift. -Understanding of basic math, reading, and writing skills -Previous experience in the following maintenance areas preferred: electrical, plumbing, carpentry, welding, and boiler. -Effective communication and problem-solving skills -Education – High School diploma or GED required. -Fast paced manufacturing environment where workers are exposed to both ambient/outside temperatures and dust; working with mechanical parts and pinch points; exposure to increased noise levels.
