The Role

Overview

Design and optimize control systems for HVDC products using control theory and modeling.

Tasks

-Resolves issues using established procedures. Consults supervisor or more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters. -Developing conceptual knowledge of professional discipline. May include support roles with specialized expertise or technical knowledge in broad area. -Identify, develop, evaluate, introduce, and manage engineering solutions for product control and control system technology needs. Apply control theory and mathematical modeling to design and control systems with desired behaviors. Includes operability, setting of boundaries, cycle optimization, control logic, control related software, sensors, hardware and software algorithms, and feedback to control the performance of devices, subsystems and systems. -Collaborates with others to solve issues. For customer facing roles, develops strong customer relationships and serves as the interface between customer and GE. Exchanges technical information, asks questions and checks for understanding.

What You Bring

-Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. -For roles outside of the USA- This role requires basic experience in the Engineering/Technology & Controls Engineering. Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college ( or a high school diploma with relevant experience). -Applies general knowledge of business developed through education or past experience. Understands how work of own team contributes to the area. -For roles in USA - Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Job Family Group(s)/Function(s)).
