Tasks

-Defines work scope and select subcontractors in cooperation with Sr. Estimator -Develops important relationships with subcontractors and considers the relationship when making decisions -Participates in forecast meetings and tracks budget vs. actual costs through construction -Begin working with Sr. Estimator in design build projects (conceptual estimating, working with architects in design, manage budget) -Call subcontractors and develops interest in projects -Successful in hard bidding projects, organize scopes of work in bidday program -Supports Big-D’s mission and values as well as all policies and procedures

What You Bring

-Industry knowledge and aware of current market conditions and subcontractor network -3+ years of experience as an Estimator in the construction industry -Proficient in OnScreen Takeoff (OST) -Understands means and methods of construction. Know the different labor productivity rates of these items. -Great customer service skills -Proficient in organizing and assembling estimates in Timberline -Knowledge of the subcontractor network in the Utah market preferred -Understands CPM Scheduling and can translate into construction budget. Clearly communicates with Subcontractors scheduling expectations. -Good time management skills -Work well in a team environment -Clear written and verbal communication -Learns financial risk management with subcontractor bids -Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, or similar degree -Construction field experience preferred -Knows overall SF cost of construction for different building types -Knows unit costs of different construction materials and labor -Consistently produces accurate work and has excellent attention to detail -Proficient in quantity takeoffs -Understands turnover process and conveys project information comprehensively -Understands VE process and participate in working session -Becomes proficient in conceptual estimating in Timberline through the CM Process (Program, Schematic, DD, CD, etc) -Excellent computer skills, typing, Microsoft Office Suite, and Bluebeam
