The Role

Overview

Repair, test, and refurbish medium‑voltage circuit breakers and provide technical support.

Tasks

-Refurbish previously sold equipment incorporating the latest design enhancements to increase mechanical and dielectric capabilities -Build, refurbish, rebuild, repair, & test various types of circuit breakers, contactors, grounding devices, and other electrical distribution equipment. -Work with and provide remote technical assistance with internal and external customers to troubleshoot field orders. -Incorporate current and future enhancements into older models of Powell equipment. -Provide safe and clean working environment. -Internal relationships include regular interaction with: Project Management, Sales, and Quality Assurance -Electrically and mechanically upgrade customer equipment to perform at ratings not previously purchased for such as changing control voltage, increasing continuous current ratings or adding under voltage or second trip devices. -Provide remote technical assistance to internal and external customers. -Interpret Powell electrical schematics and wiring diagrams. Retrieve and print drawings from Powell database. -Test the equipment per applicable IEEE/ANSI and Powell Factory Acceptance Testing Standards

What You Bring

-Must have strong verbal and written communication skills. -Working knowledge with using the following test equipment: Hi-Potential Test Set, Insulation Resistance Test Set, Multi-meter, dial caliper. -Minimum education level of a High School Diploma or General Education Diploma is preferred. -Minimum of 4 Years in a similar role -Must demonstrate working knowledge with the use of various hand tools and mechanical adaptability. -Proficiency in problem solving is a preferred. -Demonstrated proficiency with computer skills using Oracle, MS Outlook, Word & Excel -Demonstrated understanding of basic electrical theory, safety, and applications.
