Expression of Interest: ITS Engineers (Engineer to Principal Engineer)

Description

You’ll help design and deliver cutting-edge ITS and operational technologies across highways, tunnels, and bridges—enhancing safety, efficiency, and sustainability. Our work spans the full lifecycle: from early-stage design and integration to construction support and independent engineering.

Projects include major UK infrastructure such as the Lower Thames Crossing, Silvertown Tunnel, and Smart Motorways, as well as international assignments that apply UK expertise globally. You’ll collaborate with specialists in systems engineering, communications, and traffic technology across Arup’s Highways, Energy, and Digital practices.

• Business Development: Supporting bids and proposals.
• Technical Assurance: System validation and compliance with UK and international standards.

Requirements

• Strong analytical, problemsolving, and communication skills.
• Understanding of operational technology (e.g., communications networks, control systems).
• Experience in ITS design, integration, or consultancy.
• Membership of a relevant professional institution and commitment to development.
• Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Systems, or Communications Engineering (or equivalent).
