Tasks
As a trusted onsite presence for SPDC, you’ll work directly with the general contractor and client-side teams to oversee construction safety performance. This includes conducting inspections, reviewing documentation, supporting incident investigations, and collaborating on day-to-day EHS activities throughout the project lifecycle. You’ll be embedded within a fast-paced, high-performance project environment and play a critical role in promoting safe work practices, maintaining compliance, and driving continuous improvement in safety outcomes across the site. -Conduct daily site walks and log safety observations. -Review incident investigations and ensure appropriate preventative actions are identified and implemented. -Perform regular inspections of high-risk activities and critical controls. -Review contractor WHS documentation and monitor on-site compliance. -Support audit coordination and close-out of findings. -Participate in toolbox talks, planning meetings, and client site walkthroughs. -Provide EHS input into project reports and performance updates. -Engage with stakeholders across all levels, from trades to senior project managers, as a trusted advisor. -Champion SPDC’s safety values and standards on the ground.

What You Bring
SP Data Centres is seeking an experienced and reliable EHS Consultant to support a high-profile data centre construction project in Sydney. This is a contract role (ABN required) where you will be seconded to our client’s project site, acting as a key representative of SPDC in the field. -White Card and minimum Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety. -Comfortable working independently while representing a broader consultancy. -Duration: 12 months initially, likely extending to 18 months based on project needs. -Physically fit for daily site inspections and varied terrain. -Strong working knowledge of high-risk construction activities and relevant legislative controls. -Minimum 5 years of EHS experience within commercial construction projects (mandatory). -Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence site-level behaviours. -Valid Australian driver’s licence and reliable transport. -Proficiency with EHS software platforms and Microsoft Office suite.
