The Role

Lead safety strategy, compliance, and training for construction projects.

Tasks

-Provide technical advice, coaching, guidance, and mentoring to employees on safety initiatives and necessary changes. -Facilitate supervisor and management training on root cause analysis. -Liaise with external vendors to manage hazardous waste hotline, SDS system, waste collection, and disposal program. -Assist operational management in ensuring compliance with all regulatory agencies. -Support Safety Coordinators and site management in the implementation of safety and compliance programs or policies. -Lead or direct incident investigation process, including root cause analysis and identification of corrective action plans. -Communicate safety and compliance strategy and objectives to leadership. -Supervise, lead, and mentor safety coordinators and compliance support staff in planning and scheduling. -Recommend and implement effective safety and compliance programs and policies designed to meet operational goals to reduce injuries and incidents. -Implement audit tracks and identify gaps in local operational compliance with corporate safety policies and procedures. -Monitor, interpret and communicate regulatory and policy changes to management. -Determine and review effective metrics to track progress, proactively identify areas of concern, and drive accountability. -Maintain and apply knowledge of an effective Occupational, Health & Safety Management System. -Develop and support creation of a strategy of safety and compliance strategic goals.Ensure safety coordinators and site management have the appropriate activity-based goals for the leadership team, managers, and supervisors, to drive the safety culture, compliance, and results. -Identify best practices and lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce work process risks, raise safety awareness, and improve safe work practices.

What You Bring

-Five (5) years related supervisory experience in a safety role. -Associate’s degree or equivalent. -Ability to think strategically and provide strong leadership. -Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less. -Demonstrate professional maturity and ability to act as a change leader. -Ability to maintain confidentiality. -Certified Utility Safety Professional (CUSP). -Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) Certifications, such as ASP or CSP. -Bachelor’s degree in related field of study. -Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. -OSHA 10 and 30 Certifications. -Working knowledge of the construction and/or electrical industry. -Display strong problem-solving skills, organizational skills and analytical skills -Excellent written and verbal communication skills. -Valid US Driver’s license. -Strong knowledge of applicable regulations. -Ability to read and understand maps, drawings, and diagrams for projects plans.
