Tasks
-Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving design calculations, analysis, value engineering, writing technical specification and project cost estimate -Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures -Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered, apply innovative design solution, implementing current technology to meet project design needs -Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision -Supporting a wide range of traffic engineering projects for roadway, freeway, transit systems, managed lanes, bicycle and pedestrian facilities -Provides guidance, mentor and coach to entry level/junior engineers, or technicians, to learn and improve their technical skills -Lead traffic engineering projects throughout California

What You Bring
-Must be highly self-motivated with the ability to successfully multi-task, perform detail-oriented work, work independently, and demonstrate effective time management skills -BA/BS plus eight (8) years of relevant experience including work in the state of California or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education -10+ years of job-related experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education -California PE/TE license -Hands on design/study experience on Caltrans transportation projects and familiar with Caltrans standards, Highway Design Manual, Traffic Manual, Highway Capacity Manual, policy and procedures -Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office programs and other relevant software programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, and preferable Project)Skilled in MicroStation and AutoCAD software -Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to discuss projects with co-workers, clients, regulatory agency staff, AECOM staff, and the public in meetings and at public events as well as write concise and readable technical reports and documents -Must be highly self-motivated with the ability to successfully multi-task, perform detail-oriented work, work independently, demonstrate effective time management skills, and consistently deliver high quality deliverables
