Tasks

-Occasionally perform bridge inspections and load ratings on local agency structures -Prepare detailed plans and construction documents for the assigned tasks -Perform engineering calculations pertaining to, and in support of, the detailed plans and construction documents developed -Develop contract specifications, contract bid documents, and technical report writing -Perform structural design and analysis tasks for projects including bridge rehabilitation and replacement projects under the oversight of a Senior Engineer

What You Bring

-Experience in conceptual, preliminary, and final design and plan production of bridge projects following Federal, State, and Local Municipality codes -A minimum of five years of Structural Engineering experience with a focus on bridge design (preferred) -Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD required, Microstation preferred) -Virginia PE License preferred, or ability to obtain within two years -Ability to work effectively as part of a design team -Experience with current FEM modeling software (preferred) -BS in Civil Engineering (ABET-EAC Accredited Degree); Specialization in Structural Engineering (preferred) -Must be a highly motivated individual who is detail and goal-oriented, a self-starter, and proficient in both verbal and written communications
