The Role

Overview

Perform maintenance and repairs to keep affordable housing safe and functional.

Tasks

-Prepare vacant units to occupancy standards within established time frames. -Maintain an inventory of maintenance supplies and report any shortages. -Perform cleaning and upkeep of common areas and grounds. -Conduct routine maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs. -Inspect property mechanical systems and grounds, addressing safety issues immediately with management. -Complete service requests in a timely manner and interact with residents to ensure their needs are met. -Conduct routine preventative maintenance activities in partnership with the supervisor. -Assist in emergency repairs as directed by supervisors and rotate on-call for emergency maintenance.

What You Bring

-Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and electrical systems. -Strong belief in the value of teamwork and collaboration. -Personal standards of appearance and dress compatible with the Company’s standards. -Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. -2+ years of experience in general maintenance or a related field. -Willingness to embrace feedback and continuously improve. -Reliable and committed to doing the right thing at all times. -Demonstrates accountability and reliability by taking full ownership of projects and outcomes, prioritizing precision and attention to detail, and approaching challenges with grit, resilience, and proactive problem-solving, while continuously engaging in learning and development to enhance performance; fosters collaboration and a resident-centered environment, ensuring empathy, respect, and cross-functional success in all interactions. -Schedule flexibility is required, including the ability to work weekends when necessary to meet property maintenance demands. Must be able to participate in the emergency on-call rotation as needed.
