Tasks

-Check job site for potential problems. -Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach and grasp with hands and arms. -Regularly twist, bend, stoop, kneel and crouch to perform duties -Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships. -Maintain traffic control supplies -Climb intermittently -Oversee MOT set up, erection, placement and removal of traffic control materials -May ensure that flag persons are properly trained for site duties -Review MOT plan requirements. -Regularly push/pull objects -Control flow of traffic around construction site -Making accurate basic arithmetic calculations. -Meet with MOT Foreman to discuss construction project traffic control measures.

What You Bring

-Knowledge of traffic control techniques. -Following verbal and written instructions. -Good vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus -Regularly reach above shoulder level -Reading and understanding route maps and street signs -Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 pounds on a regular basis, and sometimes heavier weight. -Constant physical effort, including extended standing for at least 8 hour shift -Active Driver’s license -OSHA safety rules and regulations, and safety standards in hazardous traffic environments. -Able to read and understand construction plans, drawings and specifications. -Excellent hand, eye and foot coordination. -Able to hear and respond to oral instructions in a noisy environment. -Two (2) years’ experience in traffic control positions. -High School diploma or general education degree (GED) -Intermittent sitting; continuous walking on construction site. -Strong commitment to quality, safety and customer satisfaction -Efficient at multi-tasking and working under the pressure of time constraints -MOT certification, a plus. -Agility, balance, and manual dexterity, as well as arm-hand steadiness
