The Role

Overview

Install, program, commission, and service fire alarm and suppression systems.

Tasks

-Execute projects on time and within allocated installation hours. -Complete project documentation in a timely manner. -Work with the project manager to resolve all discrepancies, and coordination problems that impair installation activities. -Install, program, configure, commission and service Fire Alarm and Fire Suppression Systems including but not limited to; Simplex, Fike, Kidde, Inergen, Sapphire, FM-200, and CO2 as well as other related building system products at customer sites. -Read and interpret complicated blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications software/systems, programs, schematics and operational product manuals. Coordinate the installation activities with all trades to optimize installation time. Attend all required site meetings. -Adhere to all OSHA and SimplexGrinnell safety policies and procedures. Participate in a scheduled On-call rotation. -Instruct and train customers on functional operation of the equipment/system. Conduct simulations and answer questions.

What You Bring

-Able to obtain and retain any licenses that are required by National, State and local codes -Ability to lead & work well with team members. -Possess a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company requirements. -Will need to work on multiple projects simultaneously. -Experienced at multitasking (to work on multiple projects simultaneously). -Able and willing to travel overnight travel if or when required. -Experience and knowledge in reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and operational/product manuals. -Knowledge of local Fire Codes -High School Diploma or equivalent -Able and willing to perform physical labor including carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 70 lbs. -Three (3) or more years of documented experience in low voltage electrical systems, including Fire/Life Safety systems, Access Control, Nurse Call, and Paging systems. -Able and willing to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc. -Able and willing to adhere to, implement, and follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times. -NICET certification (plus) -Able to pass a pre-employment background and drug test. -Able and willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and nights, to meet customer requirements. -Exhibit excellent customer service skills by consistently communicating with the district staff and customers to ensure customer satisfaction. -Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and an ability to learn quickly. -Local State licenses. -Experience and knowledge with hand tools test equipment, multi-meter usage, digital analyzers, and commissioning devices.
