Inspect and document civil infrastructure construction, test materials, and ensure compliance.

Tasks

-Conduct and document observations of construction as it progresses for civil projects related to civil infrastructure, such as roads, bridges, transit, rail and environmental projects. -Coordinate field materials sampling and testing, including concrete slump and air testing, casting concrete test cylinders, and performing in-place soil compaction testing -Monitor, record and inspect progress on construction projects -Receive general supervision from the Senior Inspector who reviews work while in progress

What You Bring

-Experience in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) -Strong written communication skills -High School diploma or equivalent -Technical school, associate or bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction management. -Local candidates preferred -Ability to work independently and as part of a team -This position typically requires successfully passing drug-screening procedures prior to being hired; thereafter subject to random and cause drug and alcohol testing -Some demonstrated experience in construction inspection. -Ability to interpret construction schedules.
