Production Radiological Controls Supervisor (PRCS)

Overview

Supervises radiological decontamination, demolition, and hazardous material work crews.

Tasks

-Develop Job Hazard Analysis and conduct briefs to the work crews -Waste segregation, handling. and packaging in accordance with written instructions -Conduct Crew briefs of the work crew to specific procedures -Oversight and accountability of trained work crews performing the following tasks -Demolition and dismantlement of equipment and structures -Perform inspections to ensure compliance with Local, State, and Federal regulations -Segregation and packaging of hazardous, non-hazardous, chemical, and radiological wastes

-Supervisory experience in pre-job scoping and hazard analysis -Use of wide range of hand and power tools -5 years minimum Supervisory experience in Construction and/or Demolition -APTIM - Helpful Documents -U.S. Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program experience a plus -U.S. Citizen - No Dual Citizenship -Supervisory Experience working with Asbestos, Lead, PCBs and other Hazardous Materials -Scaffold erection and working at heights -Public speaking skills -Asbestos abatement of facilities and components -Ability to lift up to 50lbs. -Strong written and oral communication skills -40HR HAZWOPER -Mechanical disconnection and segregation of out-of-service machinery -Carpentry and mechanical skills -Ability to work in strict safety-focused work environment -Ability to oversee verbatim compliance to work/safety procedures -Ability to take written and practical examinations -High School Diploma or equivalent -Asbestos Supervisor certification -Prior experience in radiological D&D and remediation a plus -Radiological decontamination and component removal in strict compliance with radiological work procedures -Experience with rigging and mechanical lifting equipment -Must be able to obtain and maintain a Dept. of Energy "L" clearance -Experience working by OSHA guidelines and standards -Testing: written and practical exams to gain and maintain required qualifications
