The Role
Overview
Perform welding, assembly, and repair of metal components using various welding methods.

Tasks
-Assemble parts by bolting and riveting. -Lay out, position, align, and fit components together. -May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds -Complete all Safety and general job training as required by SIC. -Bolt, clamp, and tack-weld parts to secure in position for welding. -Maintain a safe, clean and organized working environment. -Detect, recognize, and respond to dangerous conditions or situations. -Set up equipment and weld parts, using arc, gas-shielded arc, submerged arc, or gas welding equipment. -Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts, using cutting torch, straightening press, and hand tools. -As required, perform safety inspections of work area, equipment and tools, in accordance with SIC policy to ensure compliance with government regulations, customer requirements, and SIC’s safety program. Resolve all discrepancies found through inspections. -Observes SIC/Client Safety processes and procedures at all times. -Select equipment and plan layout, assembly, and welding, applying knowledge of physical properties of metal machining weld shrinkage, and welding techniques. -Rate information using standards that can be measured or checked.

-Must be able to adequately hear and respond to voice commands and alerts from other employees, alarms and other job-related noises -Regular attendance is required. -Must be able to safely operate all involved equipment and tools -Must be capable of standing for long periods of time, bending consistently, working on ladders, and in awkward body positions -Must be able to effectively use all required PPE equipment -Must be able to move in and around confided spaces and uneven areas -Must be able to safely access all areas of property and buildings -Conditions include working in office, shop, busy traffic areas, freezers, and warehouses, with frequent exposure to dirt, dust, grease, oil, vibrations, and adverse weather conditions. Must be able to safely access all areas of property and buildings -Certification at one or more levels is required.
