The Role

Overview

Design mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, piping) using Revit/AutoCAD for AEC projects

Tasks

-Perform equipment selection and layout coordination with architectural and structural disciplines -Sit/stand at a desk or computer -Walk, stoop, stand and move around job sites -Collaborate with engineers and other team members to develop mechanical system designs, including HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems -Support QA/QC processes and implement feedback to improve design accuracy and quality -Coordinate closely with clients, consultants, and contractors to support project delivery -Assist in load calculations, energy modeling inputs, and system sizing -Maintain awareness of project timelines and deliverables to ensure deadlines are met -Prepare construction documents including plans, sections, details, and schedules using Revit and AutoCAD -Conduct site visits to gather field data and support construction administration

What You Bring

-Frequent communication via phone, video, or in-person meetings -Understanding of mechanical building systems and construction processes -Ability to focus on digital and paper-based information for extended periods -5+ years of mechanical design experience in the AEC industry -Travel and occasional site visits requiring stooping, standing, and lifting up to 30 lbs. -Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD required; familiarity with Navisworks and Bluebeam a plus -Strong organizational skills and attention to detail -Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment -Effective communication and collaboration skills -Associate degree or technical diploma in mechanical design or drafting (bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred) -Knowledge of applicable codes and standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, ICC, etc.)
