The Role
Overview
Install/terminate network cabling, test, document, and ensure compliance in critical IT sites.

Tasks
-Installing and terminating network cabling (e.g., Cat5e/6/6A/7, fibre optic), racks/cabinets, patch panels, conduit and pathway infrastructure. -Interpreting drawings, specifications, installation diagrams, manufacturer instructions, and coordinating with facilities, communications/IT teams, contractors. -Testing and verifying cabling installation: e.g., verifying connectivity, signal integrity, network-cable testing equipment, fibre optics testing if applicable. -Implementation of structured cabling standards (TIA-568, TIA-569), data centre/network infrastructure best practices, network racks, cable management, labeling, documentation of as-built.

What You Bring
-Commitment to safety compliance: lock-out/tag-out, OSHA/Cal-OSHA rules, airport security clearance, PPE usage. -Familiarity with electronics, low-voltage systems, communications system grounding, bonding, and safety protocols. -Working in mechanical/electrical rooms, ceilings, risers, tunnels, possibly manholes or airport sub-stations; ability to perform moderate physical work (pulling cable, installing pathway, working at heights if required). -Bachelor’s degree or technical certificate in telecommunications, electrical engineering technology, fiber-optics, or similar field. -Knowledge of Class C-7 Low Voltage Systems Standard. -Experience working in high-security / critical infrastructure environments (airport, data centre, utility) is strongly preferred. -Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in IT hardware installation enviromnents.
