Tasks

-Perform/supervise load ratings on bridges of various type size and complexity -Perform/supervise calculations and analysis for designing bridge and transportation structures using various bridge design software programs -Review construction related submittals -Review calculations and design details developed by others -Supervising and mentoring Structural EITs and Interns -Attend meeting with clients and other professionals and organizations -Develop solutions to challenges presented by the client within budget, schedule, and project constraints -Assist with marketing bridge and structure design work -Organize and maintain project files

What You Bring

-Familiarity of TxDOT bridge standards and design manuals is strongly preferred -Master of Engineering preferred, but not required -6 to 9 years of engineering experience in bridge design -A satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR) -Technical expertise for the layout & design of bridges and related highway structures -Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering -Valid driver’s license -Familiarity with rehabilitation of existing bridges and highway structures -TxDOT experience is strongly preferred -Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment. Please note that federal regulations may differ from state-specific guidelines -Valid Professional Engineering Licensure (P.E.) -Knowledge of AASHTO and other pertinent bridge design specifications -Skilled in the use of OpenBridge Designer
