Tasks

-Collaborate with architects, designers, engineers, and business professionals to develop integrated, high-quality design solutions -Perform structural engineering analysis and develop design calculations to support project objectives -Develop construction cost estimates and validate them against industry benchmarks -Prepare engineering studies and detailed reports to communicate findings and recommendations -Build and maintain strong client relationships to support project success and firm growth -Mentor and direct junior engineers and BIM staff, fostering their professional development -Develop structural engineering fee proposals and contracts -Manage project-specific requirements, including scope, budget, and timelines -Work independently and guide team members to produce construction documents, including plans and specifications -Oversee and manage all structural engineering aspects of projects, ensuring compliance with codes, standards, and client requirements

What You Bring

-Strong time management skills to balance project demands and deliverables. -Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Outlook. -Structural Engineer (SE) license -Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited four-year university -Active involvement in professional organizations (e.g., SEI, ASCE) or contributions to industry publications -10+ years of job-related experience in structural engineering (20+ years preferred for senior-level candidates) -Experience with sustainable design practices or advanced structural systems (e.g., mass timber, high-performance concrete) -Advanced understanding of basic structural systems, design processes, and general architecture/engineering practices. -Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering -Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain licensure by comity in the state of the hiring Cushing Terrell office -Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Cushing Terrell will not sponsor applicants for work visas. -High level of collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams. -The majority of the time, a person in this role will be sitting in an office with limited physical requirements. This may require individuals to bend, stretch, twist, and reach.

-Actual pay will be determined based on the candidate’s years of experience, licensure status, location, level of proficiency, and other job-related factors (as permitted by law). This position is also eligible for an annual performance bonus.
