Tasks
-Maximize site productivity by managing and coordinating the work performance, quality and efficiency of labourers and subcontractors -Exercise legal due diligence, including maintenance of a daily job history log, inspecting workmanship to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and identifying resources required to mitigate potential risks and hazards -Develop a detailed action plan and schedule to execute the project on time and on budget by effectively mobilizing labour, equipment and material resources -Interpret plans and specifications according to the scope of the project, ensuring compliance with working drawings and specifications -Create a safe work environment by implementing strict Health & Safety guidelines on site and ensuring compliance with all related legislation and safe practices -Oversee project close out activities, including quick resolution of deficiencies and site cleanup -Coordinate projects with municipalities, environmental protection agencies etc. to ensure continuous operation of services -Manage subcontractor activities to ensure adherence to the project construction schedule and budget -Liaise effectively and maintain regular communication with all Project Stakeholders ‐ the Project Manager (and the PMA), Landlord, Client, Consultants, Architects, Engineers and Designer

What You Bring
Govan Brown has an exciting opportunity for a talented Site Manager/Superintendent in the St. Catherines area to oversee and manage all on‐site construction activities, ensuring client projects are executed safely and successfully meet project quality, schedule and financial goals. -Good understanding of health & safety and construction regulations -5+ years of construction site supervision experience, ideally with a general contractor -Skilled in negotiation and resolving on-site issues -Excellent time management and ability to stay organized under pressure -Strong leadership skills with a focus on accountability and results -Comfortable using Microsoft Outlook and other construction relation software like SiteDocs. -Potential for work-related travel. -High level of integrity and professionalism -Confident communicator with the ability to build respectful relationships on site -Proactive approach to identifying and managing risks -Solid background in ICI construction / interior fit-up projects -Exposure to construction work site environment in all seasons.
