Overview
Create detailed designs of custom mechanical systems using 3D CAD and testing.

Tasks
-Participate in Tests to evaluate performance of developmental parts, assemblies, or systems under simulated operating conditions, and record results -Record completed job data -Communicate with peers to establish design direction of a project and to increase quality of work -Participate in planning methods or sequences of operations for developing or testing experiments -Provide technical assistance and resolution when mechanical or engineering problems are encountered before, during, and after construction -Develop testing plans of these devices as well as monitoring their testing and generate testing hypothesis, conclusion, and recommendations -Review project Booking Packages [project charter] and procedural manuals -Review existing engineering criteria to identify necessary revisions, deletions, or amendments to outdated material -Check in files to file management and use specified workflows. -Embody technical specifications of a project into 3D model, approval drawings, and manufacturing drawings -Locate files relating to specific design project in database library -Analyze and interpret test information to resolve design-related problems -Develop and perform detailed design of custom mechanical systems incorporating client technologies -Assist Teammates by resolving and updating designs -Draft detail, and assembly, drawings of design components using computer-assisted equipment or standard drafting techniques and device -Proof checking of your own work through 3D CAD interface check, drawing review, and review of bill of materials -Collaborate with engineers or other personnel to identify, define, or solve developmental problems -Consult with engineers to discuss and interpret design concepts, and determine requirements of detailed working drawings

What You Bring
-Proficient in Microsoft Office -Open/Run applications on computer -Proficient in some/most performing engineering calculations such as motor horsepower, stress and deflection of steel and torque analysis of shafts -B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience -Capable of problem definition, analysis and solution development -Good mathematical and mechanical aptitudes. -Experience with SimSolid or FEA analysis -Good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills -Proficient in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc. -Good planning and time management skills, ability to organize, set priorities, and manage multiple projects simultaneously -Knowledge of fabrication, machining and other manufacturing processes -Knowledge of standard mechanical engineering industry practices -Knowledge of basic machining methods such as milling, drilling, tapping, turning, etc. -3D design experience -Experience with SolidWorks Parametric Modeling -Familiar with ERP software -Good decision making, problem solving and team member skills -Experience with the design of motion systems and special machines
