Overview

Lead field survey teams performing topographic, boundary, ALTA, LiDAR and drone surveys.

Tasks

-Wear personal protective safety gear most of the day -Operate advanced survey technology including GPS, Robotic Total Stations, digital and differential levels, UAV, high-definition scanners and data collections devices -Build client relationships -Follow prescribed safety practices for Land Surveying -Lead field team to achieve client & project objectives -Prepare daily reports, time sheets and other required paperwork while maintaining a high level of organization and consideration to detail -Drive a passenger vehicle -Supervises, mentors and coaches jr. field staff -Communicate with the project team and client to understand the goals, challenges, schedule, budget, and expectations of a project -Maintain land surveying equipment and vehicle, ensuring they are in good working condition

What You Bring

-Willingness to work outdoors and in adverse weather conditions -Ability to interpret design and construction plans -Ability to physically carry 30 to 60 pounds of equipment multiple times a day, occasionally lifting up to 75 pounds -Minimum five years' experience as a Survey Crew Chief with the ability to become a licensed Land Surveyor in Training (LSIT) and obtain future licensure as a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) -Demonstrates good verbal and written communications skills -Competent operating total stations, GPS and Data Collectors. Proficiency with the Trimble and Carlson family of surveying equipment is a plus -Willingness to work overtime as needed -Prior experience as a crew chief required -Maintain a current driver's license in good standing and able to operate company owned vehicles -Move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces -Ability to travel for up to a week at a time and work in all types of weather conditions. -Self-motivated, self-starter with the ability to work in a team environment and independently -Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, Carlson and Inroads software is a plus -Proficiently document each task performed, maintaining accurate records of project progress.
