Tasks

The Electrical/Controls Engineer II will provide support to our manufacturing operations to ensure the plant is meeting operational and financial goals. This role will be responsible for evaluating current and future needs for the asset management of plant equipment. This position includes performing unplanned, planned, preventative, predictive and corrective electrical maintenance to core process and auxiliary equipment in a continuous process manufacturing plant. Support the electrical infrastructure, electrical safety, energy management, troubleshoot technical electrical issues, capital project development, project implementation and training site maintenance technicians. This position will report directly to the Plant Engineer. -Assist facility with manufacturing operations as well as execution of electrical safety initiatives. -Compliance with all safety/environmental standards, and promotion of safe work practices. -Ensure designs are implemented with accurate consideration for power management, process data collection systems interfaces, etc. -Prepares and reviews project technical electrical specifications for equipment and processes. -Prepares and reviews technical electrical specifications for equipment and processes. -Partner with Health, Safety, and Environmental team to ensure compliance with standards, practices, and policies for pollution control, installation, modification, quality control, testing, operating procedure, inspection, and maintenance of equipment, according to engineering principles and safety regulations. -Work with the maintenance team in troubleshooting of manufacturing equipment, control systems, and data acquisition breakdowns. -Development of preventive and predictive maintenance procedures. -Responsible for maintenance and upgrades for site electrical infrastructure and power distribution. -Modify electrical control circuits and PLC/HMI programs. -Develop and lead plant expense and capital projects as required -Determine root cause failure analysis and development of corrective action plans -Respond to maintenance issues with equipment and control systems in support of a 24/7 operation. -Assist with design, integration, installation, and support of manufacturing equipment, control systems, and data acquisition systems. This includes new installations and existing equipment/system upgrades.

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions. -Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline. -Demonstrated knowledge in the application of the NFPA 70E Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace -- arc flash energy and shock hazards. -Ability to safety lift material weights up to 50 pounds. -Minimum 3 years experience in a manufacturing environment. -Experience in electrical power distribution, equipment, protection and sizing -Ability to work with extended hours as necessary to complete work assignments. -Practical experience in Allen-Bradley AC variable speed drives. -Knowledge of Siemens PLCs. -CAD (AutoCAD) experience and ability to read and interpret electrical and control drawings -Experience in polymer science or textile manufacturing a plus. -Ability to travel periodically, domestically and internationally. -Experience with Industrial Database systems (WonderWare). -Demonstrated ability to provide solutions to basic project and process engineering problems. -Experience in maintenance, operation, troubleshooting and repair of PLC systems. -Ability to lead and perform electrical engineering for all aspects of projects with limited guidance. -Ability to multi-task -Demonstrated project management skills. -Demonstrated experience in the engineering and implementation of 480V (Switchgear, Power Distribution Panel, Motor Control Center) and 4160V Power Distribution Systems. -Ability to visually inspect and troubleshoot electrical/process control systems -Experience in Sieman variable speed drives / European control schemes a plus -Six Sigma, SPC, Lean, 5S, and TPM applications, sponsorship, and team development. -Demonstrated capabilities in working collaboratively with internal and external engineering resources. -Knowledge of Servers and Thin Clients technology -Excellent communications skills (verbal and written). -Experience in VMWare. -Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills -Proficient in computer applications and analysis of process data. -Systems analysis and troubleshooting. -Ability to be physically mobile throughout the Spunbond Process (stairs, heat, noise) -Six Sigma Certification a plus. Solid analytical ability to determine and develop solutions to moderately complex problems -Solid knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLC and HMI applications (including programming) along with communications within enterprise and control networked systems.
