The Role

Overview

Paid 18‑month civil design apprenticeship for students, working on drafts & CAD projects.

Tasks

-Process Piping -Follow established CAD and project standards. -Complete assignments with guidance and quality checks from a mentor or supervisor. -Produce technical drawings and models using CAD software. -Revise existing drawings and complete redlines. -Support small design teams in creating exhibits, plans, and construction documents. -Assist in the preparation of civil construction design plans. -Create linework, annotations, legends, and notes based on input from senior designers. -Work with design tools such as Civil 3D, Revit, and Microsoft Office Suite.

What You Bring

-Understanding of basic drawing generation and layout. -Minimum 0-2 years of experience. -Employment with Merrick is contingent upon completion of a pre-employment background check, MVR check, and drug screen. -Experience with CAD software programs AutoCAD and Revit. -Experience with other solid modeling software such as CREO, SolidWorks, Inventor, or CADWorx. -Must be pursuing an Associate Degree - Drafting/Design, Graphic Design or Technical College Certification or Equivalent Experience from high school CAD and engineering program. -GIS Modeling
