The Role

Overview

Manage SharePoint and KM tools to enhance collaboration and info sharing for PACAF/ACC.

Tasks

-Support the deployment, configuration, and customization of SharePoint sites, ensuring proper functionality, user access, and compliance with security standards. -Assist in developing and maintaining virtual communities of interest to promote collaboration, share lessons learned, and capture best practices across organizations. -Support records and information management in accordance with DoD and Air Force policies, ensuring information is accurate , accessible, and secure. -Provide user assistance and basic training on KM tools, document repositories, and collaboration systems. -Administer SharePoint and related KM environments, including permissions, site structure, libraries, and document control. -Maintain and update KM systems such as SharePoint, APAN, event portals, and After Action Review/Lessons Learned (AAR/LL) databases. -Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining knowledge management (KM) strategies to improve information sharing and collaboration across PACAF and ACC mission areas. -Identify and suggest improvements to enhance usability and efficiency of KM environments . -Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth flow of information and data exchange between systems. -Track and report KM usage metrics to measure effectiveness of collaboration tools and support continuous improvement.

What You Bring

-Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: SharePoint Associate, Knowledge Management Professional, CompTIA Security+). -Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and work on a computer. -Ability to organize information logically and maintain consistency in records and document libraries. -Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and collaborative platforms (Teams, OneDrive, etc.). -Understanding of information governance, taxonomy design, or workflow automation within SharePoint. -Working knowledge of DoD records management policies, metadata tagging, and data access controls. -Experience assisting with KM metrics, dashboards, or knowledge capture processes. -Ability to engage in and follow audible communications in emergencies. -Familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint administration, content management, and permissions control. -Experience supporting Air Force or Joint Command information environments, including APAN or DoD SharePoint. -Bachelor’s degree in I nformation S ystems , Knowledge Management, Communications, or related field. -Ability to perform repetitive motions with the hands, wrists, and fingers. -1–3 years of experience supporting information management, collaboration platforms, or KM environments within the DoD or a similar organization. -Strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
