The Role

Overview

Develop and maintain embedded firmware for hydrogen fuel cell systems.

Tasks

-Investigate and resolve software defects, field issues, and customer-reported problems, ensuring timely root cause analysis and corrective actions. -Maintain and enhance existing embedded software to improve reliability, performance, and compliance with updated standards. (UL1998, ISO26262, IEC61508, etc.). -Design and implement embedded firmware for new control boards, ensuring compliance with system performance and safety requirements. -Travel to field sites, when necessary, to assist technicians in diagnosing and resolving firmware issues with fielded systems. -Mentor junior engineers as necessary. -Represent Plug Power in a professional manner at all times and in all interactions.

What You Bring

-Strong proficiency in C and C++ programming for embedded platforms. -Familiar with Version Control systems such as Git, SVN etc. -Results-oriented and driven work style. -Working knowledge of CAN, SPI, I2C, 1-wire and related communication protocols. -Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. -Familiarity with designing for the Automotive Electrical Vehicle market a plus. -Proactive in providing value-added solutions to current designs. -Excellent task-oriented follow-through. -Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task effectively. -Ability to design and/or optimize independently to drive significant advancement in complex projects/programs -Demonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detail -Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. -5+ years of experience in embedded software development -Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
