Tasks

-Evaluate and monitor proposal development and contract execution. -Serve as a resource for the leadership team throughout the discipline. -Responsible in preparing pertinent information for client/agency meetings and attend, as needed. -Complies with and ensures others' compliance with all policies and procedures. -Provide staff with technical assistance and supervision in the preparation of proposals and contracts for assigned projects. -Responsible for fostering staff professional development, monitoring staffing/recruiting activity, and effectively managing employee relations. -Provide leadership, strategic/managerial direction, and guidance to achieve established financial and growth goals for the discipline. -Consistently monitors the backlog of work and the sharing of resources within the discipline, maximizing staff utilization. Reviews staff utilization regularly and promptly addresses staff not meeting utilization goals. -Evaluate and monitor budgets, billing, and collections. -Manage the performance of assigned staff, conduct performance evaluations, and provide input for salary/bonus discussions. -Collaborates with the safety coordinator on implementing and complying with the Health and Safety Program as it specifically relates to the discipline. -Develop, execute, and lead discipline marketing and business development strategies in collaboration with the marketing and business development teams. -Manage material testing and training requirements to ensure compliance with company policies and PENNDOT prequalification. -Develop the skills and abilities of staff which are necessary for successful execution of work duties. -Prepares for the future state of the discipline through succession planning. -Serves as project manager while being a resource for staff on assigned projects and manage completion of projects regarding scope, schedule, quality, and budget. -Serve as a mentor and coach staff. -Collaborate with other firms in pursuit of opportunities and manage subconsultant contracts. -Responsible for overall productivity, profitability, client satisfaction, and quality of work throughout the discipline.

What You Bring

-10+ years of construction engineering/inspection experience with PENNDOT is preferred. -Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions. -PE (Professional Engineer) license is highly desired. -Associate or bachelor's degree in engineering technology or civil engineering is desired. -7+ years of experience with preparing proposals, developing and tracking budgets, and the associated financial management skills necessary to run a team and monitor the performance of the business.
