Tasks
-Maintain accurate records of process changes, experiments, and troubleshooting activities. -Ensure that all process documentation complies with company and regulatory standards. -Collaborate with the quality team to ensure that quality standards are maintained throughout the production process. -Provide technical support to production teams to ensure smooth operations and troubleshooting of process-related challenges. -Develop and implement procedures to minimize plant waste -Work with the quality control team to track the effectiveness of process improvements. -Prepare reports on process performance, improvements, and any corrective actions taken. -Monitor key process variables and collect data related to paint application efficiency, consistency, and quality. -Develop and implement corrective actions to resolve process deviations and optimize paint application techniques. -Identify and troubleshoot issues for process and manufacturing constraints. -Coordinate with suppliers to address technical issues related to ensure that materials/process meet specifications. -The responsibilities of this role require daily attendance in office with in-person meetings and events regularly. -Collaborate with R&D, production, and quality teams to define specifications and ensure adherence to process standards. -Analyze process data to identify trends, root causes of issues, and opportunities for process optimization. -Train production and quality teams on new process improvements, troubleshooting techniques, and best practices. -Provide process improvements to continuously improve overall production efficiency.

What You Bring
-Experience with paint processes and coating technology is a plus. -Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time. -Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies. -Ability to stand for extended periods and perform tasks in a manufacturing environment -Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required, approximately 10% of the time. -Residing in San Francisco: Pursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, Scout Motors will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records. -Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). -Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on process optimization and quality control. -Residing in New York City: This role is not eligible for remote work in New York City. -Willingness to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required in the process areas. -Travel: Domestic and international travel required, up to 10%, for site visits, supplier coordination, and troubleshooting. Valid driver's license required. Passport required. -Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers. -Previous experience in a process engineering role in a manufacturing environment, particularly in the paint or coatings industry. -Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field preferred. Relevant professional experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. -Valid driver's license required. -Knowledge of paint application systems and curing technologies. -This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Columbia, SC and Blythewood, SC. -Excellent data analysis skills, with proficiency in statistical tools and process control systems. -Residing in Los Angeles: Scout Motors will consider for employment qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with the Los Angeles Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance. -Ability to adapt to fast-paced, changing production environments -Passport required
